Exciting Opportunity to Shape the Future of High-Speed Optical Communication Systems in a Rapidly Growing Company!
Join our innovative R&D team and be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Forward Error Correction (FEC) algorithms for high-speed intensity-modulation and direct-detect (IM/DD) optical communication systems in the fast-evolving automotive industry.
As a key player in a small, high-growth business, you'll have the unique opportunity to contribute directly to the development of next-generation communication technologies, with a significant impact on the company’s expansion and success.
Key Responsibilities:
Channel Modeling: You’ll model critical optoelectronic components such as laser drivers, photodiodes, and optical transmission effects, while understanding their impact on signal distortion, noise, and jitter in real-world applications.
Algorithm Development: As a key innovator, you’ll invent, simulate, and validate energy-efficient DSP algorithms for adaptive AMS block calibration, channel equalization, timing recovery, symbol synchronization, FEC encoding/decoding, and more. Your algorithms will push the boundaries of what’s possible in both electrical and optical layers.
Hardware Testing & Optimization: You’ll measure and optimize algorithms on actual hardware, connecting experimental data with prior simulations and refining models. This hands-on approach ensures that the latest advancements are seamlessly integrated into the hardware.
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of industry experience in relevant fields.
- A master’s or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, or mathematics (preferred but not mandatory).
Desirable Competencies:
- Strong expertise in Information Theory, DSP, and FEC for optical/electrical communications.
- Experience in modeling communication systems, especially optoelectronics and optical channel modeling.
- Proficiency in programming languages like MATLAB, C/C++, and familiarity with Unix/Linux systems.
- Previous collaboration experience with IC design teams is a plus.
- A deep understanding of IM/DD optical communication systems.
Personal Attributes:
- A strong commitment to technical excellence and a drive for continuous learning.
- Critical thinking with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- A proactive, results-driven attitude with a passion for delivering high-quality, bug-free solutions.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Why Join Us?
This is an incredible opportunity to join a small but rapidly growing company where your work will have a direct and significant impact. You’ll be part of a team that’s shaping the future of optical communication technologies while also enjoying the flexibility and hands-on experience that a growing business can offer.
As we expand, you’ll have the chance to grow professionally, take on new responsibilities, and make your mark in a high-impact industry. This is not just a job — it’s a chance to be part of something exciting, transformative, and rapidly advancing in the world of automotive applications.
Location: Madrid, Spain.
