ROLE: Product Engineer
Location: Paris, France (Hybrid)
About Our Client
Our client, a global leader in system IP solutions, is seeking a driven and experienced Product Engineer to join their team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge EDA software.
The Role:
Imagine having a direct impact on the technology that powers everything from smartphones and electric cars to satellites and cloud computing. As a Product Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, working with a team of experts to create and refine the tools used to design the world's most sophisticated Systems-on-Chips (SoCs). You'll act as the internal customer, driving the creation of new product features from concept to documentation, directly influencing the future of SoC design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feature Definition: Define, document, and validate new product features, acting as the internal customer for each stage of development.
- Prototyping & Validation: Prototype new features and iterate based on internal and external feedback, refining concepts to ensure maximum impact.
- Development Specification: Clearly and concisely specify features for the development team, ensuring seamless communication and execution.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Rigorously test functionality throughout the development process, ensuring a high-quality end product.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive user documentation for each feature, empowering customers to effectively utilize the software.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of industry experience in semiconductor CAD flow specification and/or development (Electronic Design Automation).
- Demonstrated experience in the full SoC development lifecycle and associated tools (design, verification, testing).
- Proven ability to write clear and detailed engineering specifications and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with hardware RTL design and verification languages (VHDL, Verilog, SystemC, SystemVerilog).
- Proficiency in Python.
- Solid understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent technical specification and user manual writing skills.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and brainstorming skills.
- Familiarity with modern tools for specifications/documentation, task, and project tracking (e.g., Confluence and Jira).
- Understanding of XML IP-XACT standard for IP design.
- Experience with object-oriented software languages like Java, C++ (desirable).
- Experience with scripting languages such as TCL/Perl etc. (desirable).
- Experience in SystemC and/or TLM2.0 (desirable).
- A Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Fluency in English and French.
