ROLE: Product Definer – Wireless Systems (Confidential Client)

LOCATION: Neuchatel (Switzerland), Grenoble (France)

The ideal candidate will be based in Europe near their primary design centres in Switzerland or France, but exceptional candidates in North America will also be considered.

 

About the Role

As a Product Definer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the Marketing and Applications team. This role combines deep system-level insights with technical expertise in wireless communication, IC design, and low-power architectures to define products that meet the demands of diverse markets. You’ll engage cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and customer-facing teams to translate market needs into actionable product roadmaps and specifications (PRDs).

You’ll also maintain close relationships with key customers and partners, ensuring early market insights and competitive positioning. This is a dynamic role requiring technical acumen, strategic vision, and customer focus.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • System-On-Chip Product Definition: Define CPU, peripherals, memory, cybersecurity, power consumption, tools, documentation, and acceptance criteria for next-gen products (20%).
  • Market Competitiveness Analysis: Guide the technical and marketing roadmap to ensure leadership in wireless IoT solutions (20%).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including system architecture, RF design, firmware, protocol stack design, and program management.
  • Partner with Application Engineering, FAEs, and Sales teams globally to capture customer insights and refine product requirements.
  • Travel to meet with leading customers and ecosystem partners to develop and validate specifications (10–25%).
  • Create technical collateral to support customer engagement and evangelise product proposals (20%).
  • Directly engage with top-tier customers to ensure consensus and facilitate product adoption.
  • Maintain key customer relationships to enable early market visibility (20%)
  • Stay updated on emerging industry innovations to keep product strategies competitive (10%).

     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering; Master’s preferred (RF specialisation is a plus).
  • 7–10+ years of experience with low-power embedded MCU platforms or wireless communication technologies.
  • Proven expertise in IoT devices and systems, including requirements for low-power embedded architectures and energy efficiency.
  • Experience in defining and developing tools for MCU enablement.
  • Strong understanding of system and end-device cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of global cybersecurity frameworks and regulations.
  • Ability to analyse customer requirements and evaluate product fit.

     

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Bluetooth LE, Thread, Z-Wave, or Matter protocols is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with RTOS platforms and developer communities.
  • Exceptional communication, listening, and negotiation skills.
  • A passion for customer interaction and willingness to travel internationally (10–25%).
  • Comfortable working in diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
