Principal Process Engineer - Photolithography

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Principal Engineer with expertise in photolithography processes. In this role, you will optimize existing processes to support R&D and manufacturing wafers. You will also collaborate closely with facility/equipment engineers and integration engineers to develop and lead new processes that meet emerging device requirements for future technologies. Additionally, you will provide support for the transfer of processes to large-volume manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and optimization of advanced photolithography processes tailored for InP photonics applications.
- Oversee photolithography equipment installation, calibration, and maintenance to ensure peak performance.
- Collaborate with device design teams to translate photonic designs into manufacturable prototypes with high precision.
- Establish stringent process control and characterization methodologies to ensure consistent device yield and reliability.
- Identify and resolve issues related to lithographic patterning and process deviations.
- Proactively research and implement emerging photolithography techniques, materials, and technologies.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, fostering expertise and innovation in photolithography.
- Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams, including epitaxy, etching, and device testing, to ensure seamless fabrication processes.
- Manage and direct R&D projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timelines.
- Perform additional duties as required by leadership to support organizational goals.
Required:
- Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in photolithography, particularly in compound semiconductor or photonic device manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of lithographic mask design and resist technologies.
- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and equipment such as stepper systems, aligners, and spin coaters.
- Experience in process characterization tools like SEM, AFM, and profilometers.
- Strong understanding of photonics and optoelectronic device applications.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical process control and data interpretation.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in semiconductor manufacturing.
