ROLE: Functional Safety Engineer (Rolling Stock)
LOCATION: Hennigsdorf, Germany - On-site
SALARY: Negotiable
DURATION: 1 Year Contract

We are seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to support the assessment of an additional software release for rolling stock vehicles developed under BOStrab regulations and already in customer service. The role involves evaluating the software update’s impact and contributing to the update of the vehicle safety case.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct safety change impact analysis and identify required functional testing
• Evaluate functional safety test results
• Ensure requirements traceability
• Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
• Update the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
• Revise and update the vehicle safety case

Required Inputs:
• Technical description of the vehicle and its operational context
• Details of the new software release
• Previous functional safety test specifications
• Existing safety documentation

Expected Outputs:
• Functional safety test specification
• Test evaluation report
• Requirements traceability documentation
• FMEA report
• Updated FTA report
• Revised safety case report

Requirements:
• Fluent German (native or C1-level) with technical railway terminology knowledge
• General railway vehicle and safety expertise
• Strong background in functional safety analysis for rolling stock
• Experience with railway vehicle development and authorisation under BOStrab regulations

This role is suited for an experienced functional safety engineer looking to contribute to rolling stock safety and compliance.
