Senior/Principal Researcher: Next-generation Computer Fabrics for General Purpose and AI

Responsibilities:

Conduct cutting-edge research to build the first-generation of composable-native computer systems, enabling maximum elasticity and independent scaling of compute, memory, and I/O.
Vertical integration of applications, parallel programming, computer networks, interconnects, and computer architecture.
Develop and prototype new architectural features and improvements for high-performance computing (HPC) systems.
Produce and present research papers at top-tier conferences and write white papers to outline current developments and future research directions.
Establish and maintain research partnerships with leading universities and professors, contributing to collaborative innovation.
Mentor junior researchers and interns, fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and academic growth.

Requirements:

Educational Background: PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Expertise in High-Performance Computing (HPC), with a strong background in computer interconnects and computer architecture.
Proven track record of publishing research papers in top-tier conferences or journals.
Creative thinking with the ability to innovate and develop new technologies that push the boundaries of current computing systems.
Research experience or strong knowledge in several of the following areas:
Parallel programming models (e.g., MPI, OpenSHEM, Collectives).
Network stack, architecture, and systems in data centers (e.g., RoCE, Ultra-Ethernet, Infiniband, Slingshot, Gemini/Aries).
Scale-up fabrics (e.g., PCIe, CXL, NVLink, UPI, IF).
RPC protocols and stacks (e.g., gRPC, Thrift).
Bonus: Knowledge of Deep Learning, Recommenders, Generative AI, hardware-software co-design, or cloud computing is a plus.

Desired Skills:

Experience working in a multi-disciplinary research environment.
Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams, including industry professionals and academic researchers.
A passion for transforming research into practical, scalable computing solutions.
