For the new ZRC Laboratory, we are seeking candidates for research on future storage systems.
Responsibilities (Future Storage Systems - Research Engineer)
Track state-of-the-art developments in novel storage technologies;
Be collaborative in developing and prototyping end-to-end solutions with researchers within the group, researchers and engineers elsewhere in the company, as well as with external researchers in the open source community, universities, and other labs;
Contribute to the state-of-the-art developments in novel storage system research, preferably by contributing to the corresponding open software frameworks and by publishing high quality material in renowned academic conferences and journals.
Requirements
A Master/PhD degree in Mathematics or Computer Science or more than 1 year's experience in storage system design/optimization in related large companies;
Experience with optimizing code or code generation from two of the following domains: Linux, storage systems, high performance computing, big data processing, memory technology.
Research interest Databases, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Virtualization, QoS, RDMA, FPGA, DPU, etc. would also be highly relevant.
Solid programming experience, including with C/C++/Python/Shell;
Excellent intercultural communication, coordination, presentation and reporting skills and ability to work productively in a research environment;
Excellent interpersonal skills, team-work spirit and independent working capabilities.
