Key responsibilities
Management & monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and availability
Installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, application software
Anticipating & troubleshooting systems-related issues
Continual maintenance of security, including backup and redundancy strategies
Local IT systems maintenance, including network infrastructure
Maintaining a SLURM-based cluster used for research
Management and administration of a local GitLab-based code repository (user management, GitLab updates, troubleshooting)
Providing Level 2 and Level 3 technical support to end-users and resolving technical inquiries
Experience working across different networks/VLANs
User desktop workstations/laptops/printers support
What we expect
MSc / BSc in Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Business Informatics or related discipline
At least 3 years prior experience as a Systems Engineer
Experience in supporting multiple applications and network environments
Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux-based environments
Proficiency in automated operation and maintenance, monitoring tools, and automated deployment tools (Ansible for example)
Experience with virtualization and containerization (Hyper-V, Proxmox, VMware)
Previous experience in IT support role or willingness to learn these skills
Good analytical & debugging skills
Team player and ability to work with autonomy
Nice to have:
Experience with one or more of:
- SLURM Workload Manager
- Container Environments Docker
- Continuous integration (Jenkins, Gitlab CI)
