Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role the candidate should have more than 6 years experience in 3GPP or related areas for wireless communication systems, and familiarity with standardization of such systems.
Doctoral, or Master’s degree, or equivalent background is required. Experience of participation in industry or standard organization meetings, and of industry influence is preferred.
Skills and requirements
Familiarity with the research, standards, and deployment life cycle of cellular technologies, including LTE and/or NR.
Confident in presenting research designs to an external audience in the industry at a high level of detail.
Willingness to travel internationally at least 6-7 times per year for standards meetings and internal meetings.
Opportunity and willingness to work across all aspects of a topic, and multiple topics in 5G, 5.5G and 6G.
Impactful prior experience of guiding the conversion of research into standards proposals; preparing for and conducting RAN1 meetings at a high level of involvement; track record through study item, work item, and later phases of effective influence in multi-company negotiations; and giving clear feedback to research teams to shape ongoing work for the standards process is essential.
Good social and networking skills to support teamwork in project groups as well as ability to work independently.
