ABOUT THE COMPANY:
My client is looking for a Director of R&D ready to join their top-tier Research and Development team. You’ll be the force behind refining their existing products to mirror the market trends of new creations that meet the needs of their target markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Craft and execute the organization's R&D strategy, collaborating with headquarters to steer, delineate, and oversee the realization of forthcoming technology roadmap and the broader 5-year strategic outline.
•Guide, nurture, and inspire an expanding team of diverse, highly skilled R&D engineers and specialists, committed to creating industry-leading optoelectronic devices.
•Establish, cultivate, and sustain external relationships and alliances with essential stakeholders, including executives, marketing teams, investors, and academic collaborators involved in research projects.
•Stay informed about the latest advancements and breakthroughs in III-V materials and innovations within the optoelectronics field to pinpoint trends and opportunities for new research initiatives.
•Serve as the company's ambassador at major international gatherings, including high-profile conferences and workshops, both within the company and in the broader industry community.
•Identify new business prospects and secure support from key stakeholders, both within and outside the organization.
•Offer technical guidance and exert influence across various projects, ensuring the selection of the most effective design and development strategies.
•Partner with project managers, design leads, process architects, and process engineers to devise and construct viable project plans that meet customer expectations.
REQUIRED:
•Requires at least a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electronic Engineering).
•Considerable leadership expertise within a research setting, demonstrated by a history of securing and executing successful optoelectronic research initiatives.
•A solid understanding of III-V semiconductor device physics, characterisation and process.
•Robust people management capabilities, adept at offering clear guidance and leadership, such as steering a project team to collaborate effectively with a group of international experts across various business sectors.
•Demonstrated capacity to engage with both internal and external stakeholders, complemented by solid management, negotiation, and advocacy abilities.
•Profound analytical abilities, characterized by clear, systematic thinking, showcasing robust judgment and problem-solving skills.
•Readiness and capability to undertake global travel.
